Young Chamber Music reserves the right to change details of courses within the overall given framework. Examples of when this might be necessary include tutor illness, travel disruption or sudden changes in visa rules.
Young Chamber Music is not obliged to accept an application, for example if the applicant is unsuitable for the course, if all course places have been filled or if there are no other matching applicants for group activities. Once a place has been confirmed, a deposit of £250 is due, with the outstanding balance payable not more than one calendar month before the course start date. The deposit is non-refundable as soon as your place is confirmed. In the event of you cancelling your booking within one calendar month of the start date, no refund of any part of the course fee can be given. In the event of you cancelling your booking more than one calendar month before the start date, any monies in excess of the deposit plus administrative expenses will be returned. In the event of refunds, Young Chamber Music is not responsible for banking charges levied by the recipient's bank or changes in exchange rates.
Participants are encouraged to arrange their own personal cancellation insurance.
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel the course, any payments made will be refunded in full within 14 days of the announcement of cancellation. Young Chamber Music will not be liable for any accommodation or travel costs beyond those stated as being covered by the course fee.
Please make sure that you have your instruments insured, as any personal items and instruments will not be covered under the venue’s insurance, so please make sure that you have your own cover in place.
Young Chamber Music will not be liable for accidents or damage caused by a participant. In such cases the participant, or (for those under 18 years of age) their parent/guardian will take full responsibility for their actions and for any loss or damage caused, including reimbursement of any costs incurred as a result of such an incident. If any such damage is found to have been caused deliberately, the participant(s) may be required to leave the course immediately.
Only senior tutors of Young Chamber Music will have access to participants personal details. All details will be permanently deleted at the end of the course. We will ask for your permission to stay in touch by email for future events but will respectfully accept your decision if you choose not to.
Young Chamber Music may take photos and videos during the course for use on our website and future publicity. No participant will be identified by their full name under any of these circumstances. If you don’t wish to be photographed or filmed, please advise us prior to the start of the course.
The safeguarding of our students is of utmost priority and every participant will have to sign a code of conduct agreement to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

Any member of staff or any participant who does not comply to these guidlines will be dismissed from the course.

All applications are made subject to the understanding that services are provided in Scotland under Scottish law. All contracts, whether written, verbal or implied, are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Scottish courts.
